Accountant retires from firm

A well-known Cupar Chartered Accountant has retired after working in the town for 35 years.

David Hebden, a partner with Carters Chartered Accountants, did his training in Dundee with the firm of Bird Simpson before joining James Murray and Company in Cupar in 1976 as a qualified assistant.

In 1979 he became a partner with the Cupar Chartered Accountants and continued in that role when the firm merged with Carters in 2006.

A former rugby player, David turned out for Panmure and the Howe of Fife and played squash in Tayside and Fife.
Today, David is still a very keen swimmer and cyclist and is a member of Ladybank Golf Club. He also enjoys trout fishing.

Married to Pam, a primary school teacher, the couple have two daughters, Rachel and Jill, both nurses.
A retiral lunch was held at Craigsanquhar Hotel, near Cupar, where David was presented with various gifts by his colleagues.
